Tuesday evening group run: 5:45 PM- During the summer (Memorial day to Labor day) we have a 5k loop through the neighborhood. From September to May the Tuesday evening group run does an out-n-back course from the shop following the Sunrise Route outlined below (see Thursday morning group run maps). This is a fun, social run and is child, pet, and walker friendly. If you are new to running, or just want to get in a few extra miles in the evening, join us!
Thursday morning group run: 5:30 AM- Thursday’s run is an hour long, out and back course. We have four different routes (see maps below). You may turn around early if you don’t want to run the full hour. All levels are welcome. We may occasionally throw in some fartlek (speed play) or work on cadence with a tempo trainer. Join us for this social run to start your day off right! The Thursday morning group run is led by Cadence CFO and resident iron-woman, Mary.
Saturday morning trail run: 7:00 AM- Saturday’s run is led by Trevor. The Saturday run will take place on trails at San Tan Mountain Regional Park. Trail running is a great way to build strength while enjoying nature and the softer running surface that trails provide. We recommend bringing water, and in the summer months this will be mandatory. At the trail runs, we will make sure everyone is aware of the route and we will ensure that no one gets lost or left behind. Trail running is generally more taxing than running on the roads, so be prepared to feel slower and more winded at first. Don’t worry about trying to keep up with the faster runners, as mentioned, we won’t leave you behind! Meet at the main park entrance, off of Hunt Highway at Thompson Rd.
***Maricopa County Regional Parks have a $6 entry fee. Please be prepared to pay this fee, carpool with others, or invest in an annual pass! The annual pass is a great way to support the parks!***
Wednesday Morning Track Workout: 5:30 am Kris and Tiersa LeSueur from CrossFit Preferred lead this weekly track workout at Highland High in Gilbert. You do not need to be a member of CrossFit Preferred to join and the workout is open to all levels of runners.
